Nurzhol Boulevard

One of the main pedestrian streets of the capital is called Nurzhol. Previously, it was called Water-green Boulevard. The street is located on the left Bank of the Ishim river and has the length is 2.5 kilometers. Nurzhol starts from the residence of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan - Akorda and ends at the Khan Shatyr shopping and entertainment complex. The Boulevard is decorated with flowerbeds, singing fountains and sculptures.

Total area Akorda is 36,720 square meters, the height of the building with a spire is 86 meters. The building consists of five above-ground and two underground floors. The height of the first floor is 12 meters.

In direct translation of "Akorda" means "White bid". The color plan of the residence's facade is dominated by white. White represents joy and well-being, sincerity and nobility, honor and kindness.

The residence itself has meeting rooms and office space.

Beautiful architectural objects are located on the Boulevard, as well as the symbol of the city - "Baiterek " . Its height is 97 meters, and together with the ball reaches 105 meters. "Baiterek" entered the list of 90 epic buildings on the planet in the rating of the American Studio Pop Chart Lab. The tower supports 500 piles, while its weight is more than 1,000 tons. Of these, 300 tons is the weight of a glass ball with a diameter of 22 meters.

Among Kazakhstanis, the shopping and entertainment center"Khan Shatyr " is among the top three in terms of recognition and popularity of buildings. At night, the shopping center is illuminated by led floodlights from the inside of the building. "Khan Shatyr" designed by British architect Norman foster and considered the tallest tent structure in the world. Together with the spire the height of the tent is 150 meters.

Mosques

One of the largest mosques in Asia is "Hazret Sultan" . The area of the territory is 11 hectares, and the building itself is 17,000 square meters. The mosque can accommodate up to 10,000 people. "Hazret Sultan" has the largest dome in Kazakhstan, its height is 51 meters, and the diameter at the base of the dome is 28.1 meters.

Before the construction of Hazret Sultan, the country's largest mosque was "Nur-Astana" . The main dome of the mosque has a height of 40 meters, which is symbolic, because the prophet Muhammad was so old when he received the first revelation of Allah. Inside the mosque, there is a main or large hall designed for 5,000 worshippers. Up to 2,000 women can pray simultaneously on the second-floor balcony.

The Nur-Astana mosque contains a fragment of the Kiswa, a traditional black silk veil embroidered with gold threads, as well as the Holy Koran from the printing house of the ruler of Saudi Arabia.

Nur-Astana mosque is depicted on the reverse side of the silver coins with a face value of 500 tenge issued in 2009. In 2018, the Nur-Astana mosque added world list of  objects of special tourist attraction.

In 2018, a new mosque was built in the capital in a postmodern style "Allanyn Guli - Flower of the most high". Its main feature is green technology, which uses solar panels to generate electricity. The mosque is designed for 750 visitors.

The main building of the mosque has a complex hemispherical shape, consisting of triangular inclined planes. The composition is completed by a dome with a diameter of 26 meters. The facade of the mosque resembles a flower, as well as a diamond facet.

The area of the mosque building is 2,248 square meters. The land area is 1.44 hectares.

Arenas, centers, and museums

The largest sports ground in the city is the Barys arena. Its area is 85.1 thousand square meters. The area of "Astana arena "and" Alau " complex is 58.6 and 65.5 thousand square meters, respectively. Sports grounds are located close to each other on the left Bank of the Ishim river. These sports complexes host cultural events with the participation of presidents, mass sports competitions and world Championships.

The indoor skating stadium in Nur-Sultan is the ice Palace "Alau".Its total area is more than 65,000 square meters. The ice arena consists of a 400-meter ice track with stands for 7,500 seats.

In 2011, a multi-functional sports complex was built in the form of a cyclist's helmet-the Bicycle track " Saryarka". Capacity-9,195 people. Saryarka bike track recognized the best in the world.

Saryarka consists of two functional objects: a bike track and an ice arena. The total area of the bike track is 44,957 square meters, and the ice arena is 4,188 square meters. The track itself is covered with high-quality Siberian cedar. To protect the track from deformation, it was kept in special chambers for two years and treated with a chemical composition. The slope on the track turns is 42 degrees. 

Cultural events are held not only in sports complexes. So, "Nazarbayev center " can accommodate up to 500 visitors. Attention is drawn to the original architectural appearance of the building: a giant eye directed at the sky. The center was designed by British architect Norman foster. The total area of the complex is more than 30 thousand square meters.

Specially for the second Congress of leaders of world and traditional religions in 2006 was builtPalace of peace and harmony. Since that time, representatives of different faiths meet here in different formats every year. The pyramid became a symbol of unity of various religions, ethnic groups and cultures, openness of the people and the state to the whole world.

The building was also designed by architect Norman foster. The pyramid has an area of 28,000 square meters and a height of 62 meters.

Inside there are conference halls and exhibition halls, art galleries, presentation complexes, as well as the Museum of culture, the University of civilizations and the Opera house with 1,500 seats. On the top floor there is a hall called "Cradle" with a glass dome on which pigeons are depicted.

From June 10 to September 10, 2017, the international specialized exhibition EXPO 2017 was held in the capital of Kazakhstan. It was attended by 115 countries and 22 international organizations, and the total number of visitors to EXPO 2017 made 3 977 545 people.

Ferris Wheel and Atyrau bridge

the Ferris Wheel in Nur-Sultan is considered one of the highest such attractions in the countries of the former USSR.Its height is 65 meters and its weight is 270 tons. The Ferris wheel consists of 36 cabins, and four of them are of superior comfort. For the convenience of guests, the cabins are equipped with heating, air conditioning and panoramic Windows. The capacity of each booth is up to six people, and the load capacity is 600 kilograms. 

An interesting attraction of Nur-Sultan is the Atyrau bridge. The pedestrian bridgeconnects Samal microdistrict with the Central Park and Amphitheater. From afar bridge напоминает a huge miracle fish, whose scales, shimmering in the sun, form a pattern.

The totallength of the bridge is 313.5 meters, width - 10.5 meters. The weight of the structure is 1,920 tons. The upper part of the bridge consists of 2,450 petals, which are never repeated.

The bridge was a gift Atyrau region to the 20th anniversary of the capital. 

Residential complexes

One of the most notable and unusual buildings in Nur-Sultan is the residential complex"Triumph of Astana ". The building differs from other buildings in the capital, and some believe that the facade resembles high-rise buildings in Moscow.

The height of the "Triumph of Astana" together with the spire is 130 meters. The 39th floor is the top floor of the building and an observation deck. However, you can only get there with a special permit. The upper floors of the "Triumph" overlook the right Bank of Nur-Sultan, the Keruen city shopping and entertainment center, the Ferris Wheel and the bridge.

the Grand Alatau Residential complex consists of four towers, the highest of which include 38 and 43 floors. The highest point is 142 meters. The residential complex offers a view of Victory Avenue, the Ministry of Finance, the embankment, the Kazhimukan munaytpasov stadium, the bridge, as well as the left Bank on the other side of the building. However, access to the roof is closed.

The tallest building in the country so far is "emerald quarter". It consists of buildings of 37 and 49 floors, height-201 meters. The towers of the emerald quarter complex overlook the house of ministries, the towers of the Parliament, the government and the Akorda Palace, as well as Nur-Alem and Nurly Zhol Boulevard.

In 2017, members of the Red Bull Skydive team, base jumpers Marco Waltenspiel, Marco Furst and Manov Max Frieder, performed an extreme stunt from the roof of the towers. Base jumping is an extreme sport that uses a special parachute to jump from fixed objects.

In the near future, the multifunctional complex "Abu Dhabi Plaza" may become the tallest skyscraper in Kazakhstan and Central Asia. It was reported that the peak of the tower will be locatedat the level of the 75th floor. It was planned thatthe opening of "Abu Dhabi Plaza" will take place on the day of the capital in 2020.
