In the republican cycling track "Saryarka" starts a 4-day Championship of the Republic of Kazakhstan in Omnium and Republican competitions in sprint forms.
Omnium is a discipline in track cycling, which includes contests for several types of races on the track.

At the moment, the omnium consists of 4 disciplines, competitions are held on the same day in the following order:

1. Scratch;
2. Tempo race;
3. Shootout race;
4. Race on points (25 km for men, 20 km for women, for juniors the distance is reduced by 5 km).

The results of the competitions in the first three races sum up. For the first place in each of the disciplines the athlete is awarded 40 points, for each subsequent - 2 points less. Racers who took the 21st and the following places are given one point each.

The final match - a race on points - is carried out taking into account the points scored, i.e. points are added to points obtained earlier, or taken away from them.

The winner of the omnium is the athlete who scored the most points.

The Championship and the Republican cycling competitions will be held from 24 to 27 October 2017.
