Two days on the republican cycle track "Saryarka" were matches for the title of the best club in the country.

Undisputed victory and the title of champion of Kazakhstan in basketball was won by the Astana basketball club. In the final match against the team "Barca Atyrau" metropolitan gullivers won with a score of 94:78.

The best player of the match was Robert Lowry, who scored 25 points. Dmitry Gavrilov-18 points, Ian Miller-17 points and Maxim Marchuk-13 points.

Second place behind the team "Barca Atyrau", respectively, bronze medals went to the team "Caspian" from Aktau.

Also at the end of the championship, according to tradition, five best players of the championship of Kazakhstan were determined:

The best attacking defender - Azim Yagodnik (Caspian, Aktau)

Best light forward - Rustam Ergali (Astana)

The best powerful forward - Anton Ponomarev (Astana)

The best center is Mikhail Evstigneev (Barty Atyrau)

Note that this championship is held under the auspices of the "90th anniversary of basketball in Kazakhstan." In connection with this event, the Order of the President of the National Basketball Federation established the "Jubilee Medal", which is awarded to people who made a great contribution to the development of basketball in our country.

Distinguishedly the first medal was received by the general manager of PBC "Astana", Olympic champion, Tikhonenko Valery Alekseevich. With what we congratulate him!

Summarizing the results of this season, we can say that for "Astana" it turned out to be quite good. The tasks that were put before the team and the coaching staff were realized. The team became the owner of the Cup of Kazakhstan-2017, won the gold medals of the Championship of the RK, and also went to the playoffs of the championship of the VTB United League.

Head coach of "Astana" Ilias Papateodoro summed up the championship:

-This was a tough game, I think we deserved this victory in the championship, we played aggressively and dominated the entire championship. I congratulate my players in the first place, because they did their job very well. For us, this is a wonderful ending of the season, all the tasks that we put, we did. Now we will rest for a couple of days, celebrate, and then we will prepare for the playoffs against CSKA.
