Today, November 5, basketball players of “Astana” debuted in the new tournament - Eurochallenge. Capital “gullivers” hosted “Oradea” BC from Romania on their floor.

Starting five included as follows: Jerry Johnson, Anton Ponomarev, Jakovan Brown, Luksha Andrich and Anatoly Kolesnikov.

“Astana” initiated start of the match. By the end of period 1 of the match, the hosts of the floor led with +8 points. The first period ended with the score 22:14.

The second period of the game was as vigorous as the first. It is worth to note that all the players declared for the match came out to the field. The first half ended with the score 37:27.

The teams left for a break with this lead. There were no any changes in the game after the break. Astana players dominated. The fans of “Astana” BC were pleased by the beautiful block shot of Pasha Ilyin and the dunk of Anatoly Kolesnikov. The match finished with the score of 80:64, in favour of “Astana”.

The most effective players were: Jakovan Brown – 15 points, Jerry Johnson – 13 points, Luksha Andrich – 12 points, Patrick Kalates – 11 points, Anatoly Kolesnikov – 10 points.

- Glad for our successful debut in Eurochallenge, but I am not satisfied with the quality of our game! I think that we gave Oradea the opportunity to play too well on our floor! We will take into account all and continue to prepare for the upcoming games under Eurochallenge.

- I believe that the game was good for the spectators! We expected such a result, since our main players due to injuries did not participate in the game. I shall note our defender Daniel Popescu, and the defender of the hosts Luksha Andrich. We really enjoyed playing in Astana and we wish the full hall of spectators to the hosts during each game!

Congratulations to our basketball players for the first victory in Eurochallenge! The next game will take place on departure on November 8 at 20.00 against “Kalev” BC (Tallinn, Estonia) within VTB League tournament.

Honoring ceremony for the winners of the Asian Paralympic Games took place between the periods; they were also presented souvenirs. The competition was held between the periods where the World Class certificate for 2 guest visits was played out.

The girl named Aigerim became the happy owner of the certificate. World Class representatives awarded the certificate to the winner. Congratulations to the winner of the prize!
