The Asian Men's and Women's Weightlifting Championships started on June 21 . The Asian Championship was held on the platform of the Republican cycling track "Saryarka". It is worth noting that this is the third Championship held in Kazakhstan. In 2009, the competitions were held in Taldykorgan, in 2004 in Almaty, the press service of the cycling track reports.

Day One

On the first day, Kazakhstani athletes brought one prize to the piggy bank. Farhat Harki became the second in the 62 kg weight category, losing to the Olympic champion from North Korea, Kim Ung Guk. 315 kg is the total result of a North Korean athlete, the sum of our athlete's weights was 303 kg.

"I came to this Championship with the aim of taking a leading position. I did it, but it's a pity that I got injured. A weightlifter from Kazakhstan is a very strong opponent, so I had to get involved. On behalf of my coach, I wish all participants victories, patience and good luck. Let's meet at the World Cup."

Unfortunately, the results of other athletes in Kazakhstan were less successful. Kazakhstani women Galina Mamotova (48 kg) and Margarita Eliseeva (53 kg) took the fifth and fourth places of the Asian Championship. Arly Chontay (56 kg) failed to break into the lead and took the last place in the results column.

In the evening of the same day, the grand opening of the Championship took place. Kozhagapanov E.T., Chairman of the Agency of Sports and Physical Culture of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Turlykhanov K, President of the Weightlifting Federation of Kazakhstan and dear Ali Muradi, Secretary General of the Asian Weightlifting Federation, came out to greet the participants and guests of the competition on the platform of the cycling track.

Among the honored guests of the Opening Ceremony were Kyrykbayev Polat, Director of the DSHNK and SR, Kanagatov Elsiyar, Deputy Chairman of the Agency for Sports and Physical Culture, Mendikhan Tapsir, State weightlifting coach of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

One of the spectacular moments of the opening ceremony of the Championship was the performance of a light show.

Day two

The second competitive day was less productive. Either excitement or self-doubt overcame our athletes. And as a result, Kirill Pavlov, a participant in the Olympic Games in London, became the fourth in the 85 kg category.

A representative of the weaker half of a far from weak sport, Karina Goricheva in the 63 kg weight category completed her performances without reaching the podium.

Day three

In the weight category up to 69 kg among women, Kazakhstani Nauryzova Gulnaz could not get ahead of her colleagues on the platform and became the fifth. The third day of the Championship turned out to be slightly injured for male weightlifters.. The declared Erbol Meirmanov (85 kg) was in fifth place as a result of an injury he received during the execution of the push. But his colleague on the platform, Evgeny Estafief, won the Asian Championship in the same weight category, taking third place . The Iranian athlete Surab Moradi became the leader in this weight category.

"Estafyev did well, he was psychologically ready. A lot of things in our sport depend on how you set yourself up. It turned out that Meirmanov had to survive the medal, so an injury situation occurred. Of course it's a pity, but it's a sport. Someone disrupts the starts, someone on the contrary shows good results. From here, the potential of Kazakhstan's weightlifting will be visible. In general, the results are different, but we still have our "adults"-Zaichikov, Nurmukhambetova will take the stage tomorrow."

"the grip was tight. As you saw, no one wanted to give in. Kazakh and Iraqi athletes were strong competitors for us. Thanks to the fans for their support. You have friendly people in Kazakhstan. It was the first time we entered the Championship and my student has already shown such a result. Holding such a competition is a great merit for the representatives of Kazakhstan. Good organization, a warm welcome from the fans and the attitude of the athletes are the main factors for a successful Championship. All this is present here.

There are two more days of competition ahead. Athletes in the weight categories: women 75 kg,+75 kg and men 94 kg, 105 kg,+105 kg will enter the platform of the Republican cycling track "Saryarka". Good luck to our weightlifters!
