Recall that from September 17 to 23 this year in Ashgabat, the capital of Turkmenistan, the 5th Asian Games took place in closed premises, which are major integrated international competitions under the aegis of the Olympic Council of Asia. Athletes from more than 60 countries in Asia and Oceania competed in 21 sports, including cycling on the track. 9 sets of medals were played on cycling - 5 among men and 4 among women.
In the team sprint fought athletes from 8 countries: the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Turkmenistan, Hong Kong, Thailand, India, Iran, Kazakhstan. Under the flag of Kazakhstan competed Vorzhev P., Sultanov Z., Ponomarev S., who were successful and in the treasury of the country brought the first medal, finishing second.In the sprint 20 sportsmen took part. In this kind of cycling competition Vorzhev P., who won the first place and won the third place Ponomarev S.In the team pursuit race, 7 teams competed: from the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Turkmenistan, Hong Kong, Thailand, Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan.
