Kazakhstan national team won the qualifying round of the 2019 world basketball Championship against Qatar national team. The game took place in Astana, in the arena of "Saryarka"cycle Track.

The first half of the match turned out to be quite tense, the teams were breathing each other in the back and no one wanted to concede. But after a long break, the hosts took up the parquet over the opponent, delighting themselves and fans with accurate three-point throws. The meeting ended with the score 96: 63 in favor of the national team of Kazakhstan. 

The best player of the match was team captain Rustam Yergali in the asset, which is 22 points, Alexander Zhigulin — 19 points, Vadim Scherbak brought the team 14 points. 

Head coach of the national basketball team of Kazakhstan, Mikhail Karpenko: "First, I want to congratulate all our fans, this is a great victory for us, which practically guarantees us access to the second stage. The game, I must say, turned out beautiful. In the first half of the match, we fought with himself. Did a large number of losses, because of this opponent all the time approached us in the score, we can say the game was equal. But, we found the strength to correct this situation, in the second half we made mistakes much less often, we got very well because of the arc, from the perimeter and continued to bend our line, to defend aggressively. As a result, we had a good result, we confidently brought the match to a victory. Once again, I congratulate everyone on the victory, the whole team, the fans".

The next stage for Kazakhstan will be held this summer, the national team of Kazakhstan will play against the teams of Iran and Iraq.
