At the 2017 Asian Championships, our athletes won “5 gold”!

The Asian Track Cycling Championships took place from 5 to 11 February 2017 in New Delhi (India).

In the team race, our athletes achieved excellent results and took 4th place among the countries participating in the Asian Championship, winning 5 gold, 2 silver and 2 bronze medals.

Athletes from 18 Asian countries took part in the championship, such as Hong Kong, China, Japan, Korea, Kazakhstan, Malaysia, India, Singapore, UAE, Uzbekistan, Thailand, Mongolia, Taipei, Indonesia, Iran, Macau, Saudi Arabia, Turkmenistan. The championship was organized by the Indian Cycling Federation and the Asian Cycling Confederation.

The Kazakhstan national team was represented in the following composition by athletes from the Olympic Training Center for Cycling, who won 17 medals in the individual competition, of which 8 gold, 2 silver and 7 bronze:

  1. In the youth composition, track sprint: Sergey Ponomarev, Maxim Naletov, Kirill Ruder, Zaki Sultanov.
  2. Junior track sprint: Dmitry Rezanov, Victor Golov, Andrey Chugai, Bogdan Ruder, Aizhan Saktaganova, Anastasia Shapovalova.
  3. Juniors track pace: Stein Iogan, Melnikov Artem, Glazunov Dmitry, Lesechko Dmitry, Azen Gabiden, Zaitsev Ivan.
  4. Juniors: Talaspaeva Zhadyra, Myrksina Veronika, Pashchenko Svetlana, Solovyova Angela, Abylaykhanova Ainur.
