On December 4, 2018, the National Olympic Committee (NOC) of Kazakhstan summed up the results of the sports year and the winners of the “National Sports Award - 2018” were determined. Kazakhstanis chose the owners of this prestigious award independently, casting their votes on the NOC website of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

According to the results of online voting pupils Olympic Training Center in cycling Gleb Brusensky and Evgeny Fedorov (Vadim Gorbachev coach), who won a gold medal at the III Summer Youth Olympic Games in Argentina, won the nomination award "Breakthrough of the Year."
