In his interview to the newspaper “Yegemen Kazakhstan”, the acting chairman of the committee for sports and physical culture Zharaspaev Marat Serikovich commented on further changes expected in the field of sports.

“In pursuance of the instructions of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Ministry will take steps to optimize the work of the republican centers of Olympic training. Thus, the existing 9 centers will be combined into 3 centers” - said Serik Maratovich.

He also spoke about the changes in the work of Olympic training centers in Nur-Sultan: “The sports potential of the country is also concentrated in the capital, there is a cycle track that meets world standards. It is planned to open a center next to this sports facility. The cycle track is a multifunctional sports facility. It can be turned into a boxing ring, judo canvas, gymnastic mat, basketball or volleyball court. In addition, an athletics arena will be built in Nur-Sultan. This facility meets all the requirements of the World Athletics Association. In the near future this object may be transferred to the management of this center".
