The composition of the national team of the Republic of Kazakhstan for the Paralympic Games TOKYO-2020 has been determined

The XVI Summer Paralympic Games Tokyo 2020 will be held from August 24 to September 5, 2021, where the honor of Kazakhstan will be defended by 26 Paralympians in 7 sports.

Kazakhstani Paralympians won seven swimming licenses, seven judo licenses, five powerlifting licenses, three taekwondo licenses and two licenses were won by track and field athletes. It is also worth noting that for the first time Kazakhstani Paralympians won licenses in such sports as canoeing and shooting.    

Two-time world champion, three-time Asian champion and two-time European champion in taekwondo pair Dombaev Nurlan and silver medalist of the 15th Summer Paralympic Games Rio 2016 Koishybayeva Raushan were designated the standard-bearers of the Paralympic team of Kazakhstan in Tokyo-2020.

Tokyo 2020 is the sixth Paralympic Games in which athletes from independent Kazakhstan take part. Over the past 25 years, Kazakhstan has sent more than twenty athletes to the Paralympic Games for the first time. Recall that 12 Paralympians from our country competed in Atlanta 1996, 2 in Sydney, 2 in Athens, 2004 - 8, in Beijing 2008 - 3, in London 2012 - 7, in Rio 2016 - 10 and finally 25 athletes from Kazakhstan will take part in the Tokyo 2020 Summer Paralympics.
