FIRST WINNERS AT "SILK WAY SERIES ASTANA" CL2 DETERMINED

International competitions on cycling on the track "Silk Way Series Astana" CL2 started in Nur-Sultan.

Riders from the UK, China, Hong Kong, Russia, Azerbaijan, Uzbekistan, Ukraine, Holland, Spain, Lithuania, Latvia and Kazakhstan participate in the Silk Way Series Astana. Athletes compete for prizes in 7 types of disciplines: sprint, omnium, madison, scratch, keirin, individual pursuit and group points race.

The national team of Kazakhstan in the tournament are Bogdan Ruder, Andrew Chugai, Victor Rollins, Paul Vorzhev Artyom Zakharov, Dmitry Ryazanov, Maxim raids Andrei Kreis, Alexander Safarov Temirkhan Siyazbek, Gabiden Azen, Alisher Zhumakan, Roman Vasilenko, Sultanmurat Miraliyev Nikita Panasenko , Johann Stein, Robert Gayneev, Igor Yusifov, Nastasiya Shapovalova, Rinat Sultanova, Tatyana Bogdanova, Alena Abramchuk and Zhanerke Sanakbaeva.

In total, more than 70 athletes from 12 countries take part in the competition.

Today finals were held in five disciplines: in the scratch among women, the omnium, among men, the group race on points among women and in the sprint for men and women.

In the discipline of scratch among women, the first three places were left for athletes from China. Medals were awarded to Xiaofei Wang (gold), Zhiali Liu (silver), Ing Jean (bronze). Rinata Sultanova became the best in the list of Kazakhstan, which showed the fourth result. Artem Zakharov won the gold medal in the Omnium discipline. According to the results of four types: scratch, tempo race, knockout race and points race, Zakharov scored 185 points, which allowed him to win. Another athlete Sultanmurat Miraliyev climbed to the second step of the podium, gaining 171 points. Bronze from an athlete from the Middle Kingdom, Guo Liang.

It is noteworthy that in the women's group race the representative of China again became the best. Ing Jean, who collected 39 points, climbed to the highest step of the pedestal. Huang Jilin (China) was second. Bronze from an athlete from Spain - Ana Usabyagi.

In the sprint (women elite) Darya Shmeleva won (Gazprom RusVelo). Another Russian Anastasia Voinova climbed to the second step of the pedestal. The medal of bronze dignity was won by the world champion of 2009 - Simona Krupetskkaite (Lithuania).

In a similar discipline among men, Vasilius Lendel (Lithuania) rose to the highest step of the podium, ahead of the Russian Pavel Yakushev in the final round. Bronze medal in six-time Olympic champion Jason Kenney (UK).

Recall, "Silk Way Series Astana" is a competition of CL2 and CL1, in which the "trackers" have the opportunity to earn the necessary rating points for participation in the World Cup stages. The tournament is held on the Republican cycle track "Saryarka".
