On March 14, the western regions of the country celebrate Nauryz.

This day is also called the Amal holiday. People are happy that they got out of winter safely, stepped into spring, met with relatives and neighbors, shook hands and clapped their hands. They want to forget their enmity and resentment towards each other and wish them well.

According to the calendar of eastern countries, the beginning of March is considered the 1st day of the month of Hamal (Amal). By Hamal we mean the old Persian name for the constellation Aries. There is an idea that the constellation Aries is born at the moment of the day and night equinox.

The word "Nauryz" means "new day". In ancient times, the Kazakhs called this day “Amal” instead of “Nauryz”. We can say that there is no difference between these words. And this corresponds to March 14 according to the current calendar.
