How to protect yourself from acute respiratory infections: a conversation with athletes

Today at the Republican Cycling Track “Saryarka” held a meeting organized by a doctor of the medical service department, dedicated to acute respiratory viral infections (ARVI).

During the event, the specialist explained to the athletes the main causes of acute respiratory viral infections, among which she emphasized hypothermia, stress and lack of sleep - factors that are especially relevant in the period of intensive training.

The doctor of the center Gulmira Bazarbayevna gave recommendations on disease prevention, emphasizing the importance of strengthening the immune system. Among the main preventive measures were named:

- Regular hand washing and use of antiseptics.

- Ventilating rooms and maintaining optimal air humidity.

- Avoiding hypothermia and drafts.

- Strengthening immunity through a balanced diet enriched with vitamins and minerals.

- Observance of sleep and rest, which is especially important for recovery after training.

- Avoiding contact with sick people and using masks during outbreaks of viral infections.

- Consumption of sufficient fluids to maintain the body's water balance.

She also spoke about the first signs of acute respiratory infections and treatment options, including rest, proper hydration and a balanced diet.

Athletes actively participated in the discussion and asked questions, which helped to increase their awareness of disease prevention measures and improve their overall health.
